So my 2005 Tacoma has been making a squeeking noise, but only when i'm driving in reverse, it sounds like it peaks with each revolution of the tire, and by the sounds i think its coming from the back end of the truck. It's currently monsoon season and i think it started when i started driving over water puddles. Any ideas or suggestion of what the issue is and how to solve it?

PS. I do not get any noise while driving forward.

    Always greatful

    Drive forward :D

Couldn't resist... sounds like a brake issue though. Does the noise go away or change when hitting the brakes in reverse? Any noises when hitting the brakes going forward? My guess would be something is sticking/rubbing in the rear brake assembly.

does it coincide with the wheel rotation or the driveshaft rotation??

if driveshaft, could be u-joints...thats what mine is doing right now.
