Weird Sound when i crank up

I've noticed that whenever i crank the truck it makes this almost "clicking" sound and i took it to the Stealership and they said i need to lube up something. i forgot b/c i wasnt planning on taking it back there. Just wanted to know if this happened to more than just me. the clicking dosnt stop D:

No, but for real though, you're probably just hearing the "toyota tick". Maybe get a video of it, and upload it to youtube, and let us hear?

 

the "toyota Tick?" it makes this sound. its sooo annoying. i thought something was wrong with it. too lazy for a vid

 

ALL Toyota's make some sort of "ticking" noise. Even my moms $70k 2009 Lexus460 makes a faint ticking sound lol.

 

And too lazy to call the service dept to ask them when exactly you need to lube. Come on man.

 

to be honest i dont think anything needs lubing. -.- i think they just want an excuse to make some money off me. o.o it dosnt cause any problems i'd just be happy if i could stop it completely. O_O

Call your service advisor up and ask him what needs to be lubed. See if it's something you can do yourself.

 

if it is thats whats ill do. no need to pay someone else to do it. Im getting good at these DIY kinda things anyway.

 

I know exactly what is your problem.


In the attatched picture, you can plainly see the red arrow pointing to the cause of your problem. In order to correct this, you need to turn it all the way clockwise.

As far as it will go.

 

Well its fine once i get in it. its just when i get outside and can hear it that it gets annoying. it hasnt caused any problems so im just gonna follow those complex instructions >.>

Idle seems high also, but I DO hear a faint ticking, I'd be more concerned with the extra noise going on....

Was the A/C compressor on when you did this vid ? If so, turn it off & do another vid...

 

lol right? this is not my taco but the sound is very similar to mine own. The a/c was off. the sound was quitter but the ticking continued D:
