Can someone tell me what the stippled material on my windshield behind the rearview mirror is for? I have a new 2011 Tacoma. I was thinking of mounting a GPS in that area, but am thinking that it wouldn't stick to that surface.

I have my alarm antenna mounted there - double stick tape doesn't care. It's just extra tinting kinda, flip your visors down and you'll see what I mean.
