I'm looking at tonneau covers and I see "short bed" and "extra short bed" for the '09. I thought the difference was between "short" and "long" bed.....

    Any ideas?

The 5' bed is called an extra-short bed by some aftermarket parts manufacturers, including Snugtop.

there are only two bed types for the 2005-2009. The 5' and the 6', so go with the one that sounds shorter.

I don't know why they did not just call them... standard bed and short bed. That would have been easier.

This might be the engineer in me talking, but why don't they just call it the 187cm and 153cm bed? This would also let you know what length of skis will fit!

    Or how about:
"it will almost hold a sheet of plywood with the tailgate down"
    and
"it really won't hold a sheet of plywood with the tailgate down, but you can try anyway".

This might be the engineer tech in me talking but you can probably fit longer than 187cm ski's if you put them at an angle. :p
