2005- Up Headers / Exhaust

I am looking at installing headers on my Taco and some high flow cats. Anyone out there in 2nd Gen Taco land done this yet?

Anyone gotten rid of the cats entirely? Without check engine lights?

Seems if you change headers without changing the cats one would not be accomplishing alot.

Isn't there someone who carries a complete exhaust system?

 

i have long tube headers, not cats. check engine light, but urd makes an 02 simulator thats will shop as a stock truck on diagnostic tests.

question to ask is what is your goal? If it is power then dont bother, it wont make much of a difference. If you want alot of sound, then go for it.

And you cant get rid of the cats without a CEL unless you mess with the computer in some way (o2 sims or other)

Doug thorley, I will be picking up the 02 simulator this week which literally just plugs in. That will clear my CEL

 

I would imagine your Taco really runs alot better now without the cats and with the headers.

Interested in those O2 sensor plugs.

Top end is awesome. Especially with intake and urd MAF calibrator

 

Now that is an awesome picture showing a very fine set of headers. Looks like they are even ceramic coated too. Sweet.

They also look like they just bolt right in replacing the cats and everything.

How lomg did it take to install them? Where do you get the O2 Simulators?

Man after my own heart. I have a KLX 250 also.

I will purchase the Doug Thorsen Headers next paycheck and the O2 Simulators. Do not look forward to the install as installing headers can be difficult. But I have done it many times.

It will be 110 degrees today in OKC. Good Grief! I washed my Taco in order to simulate a rain dance. Has worked in the past.

Was there any gain on MPG when doing the headers? SOrry not trying to thread jack I was just wondering if they helped out in any other way then high end grunt. Thanks!

Haha this is a true statement.

 

The long tubes shine from mid to top end. As for a mpg gain I doubt you'll see an improvement but it'll depend on how you drive it.
