Newbe wants to off road with 2WD AC

Of course my off roading would be limited by the 2WD, still I am always amazed at just how far 2WD can get you, plus I am prone to loading too much stuff in the back.

Is there a thread on which spring/shock components to use for better load carrying capacity with the 2WD AC (6' bed)

And a recommended lift kit for the same truck (2WD). Could be rolled into the first question.

Also, I have been looking for a good skid plate just for the front. So far nothing.
