OK, so I'm pretty sure it's water related since it only happened during a couple downpours. A/C was on and I noticed it wasn't cooling. Looked at the A/C switch button and the light was blinking. Turned it off and back on and it seemed to work fine. Anyone have a clue why/how this happened?

Yea has to do with the compressor not turning. My car did it once i fixed the a/c because the clutch was full of crap and wouldnt always let the compressor move

I had the same thing happen yesterday when I was driving through about 8 inches of water on the road. I turned it off and back on have had no issues sense. I'm wondering if water got under the hood and possibly made the belt slip on the A/C unit. That would explain it. Hopefully that was all it was.

If the AC computer detects conditions that are not acceptable for compressor operation, which could be several things, then it will not allow the compressor to engage, and will flash the AC light to let the driver know there is a problem. Similar to a check engine light.

This happened to me last night. I was driving home after a heavy rain, and after a few passes through some deep puddles and standing water the A/C switch light started flashing and the cool air turned warm. Turning the A/C off and back on corrected what ever problem was occurring.

It didn't happen at all today. Sounds like water got somewhere it wasn't meant to be.

I've noticed the flashing A/C light/button on my '06 Tacoma on a couple of occasions. Both times I have been in a drive-thru line for several minutes. Is this an indication something is wrong? If so, what?
