internal dealer price sheet - am i being overcharged???

hey guys - i am in the process of buying a 2011 tacoma and wanted to see what you guys thought about the price i was getting. doesnt seem right to me.heres the deal...

i live in florida and am having a 2011 tacoma access cab prerunner v6 automatic ordered. it is the sport package. but i am also having a few extra parts ordered as well. this is the price sheet that the dealer provided me. any help would be great. thanks....and yes, this is the sport package with the tx pro parts being ordered piece by piece and added on.

Just looking at it, the only things I see as a problem are the dealer Doc, you should pay nothing, and the 16 " wheels for 800. Did you mean the
destination fee? you have already payed for 16" beadlocks above for 1021.

Also, what are the non-tax fees?

 

i agree with everything here, the only thing i can make out of the non-tax fees are like DMV stuff(registration..etc.)

 

Seems ridiculous for a 2WD access cab. I got my 4WD double cab long bed for 27k. Sticker was 32.

 

Duplicate wheel charges.

 

thanks guys, so far we are pretty much on the same page in terms of agreeing. i simply copied and pasted the dealer quote just as i got it....

aside from the dealer fees and the duplicate wheel charge, does eveything else seem fair priced?

 

X2. maybe if it was a 4X4, tho aft seeing the dup wheel charge I wouldn't trust this dealer anymore. Check your paperwork carefully

Ordering a vehicle will always cost you more! can't you find an access cab sport in stock then add the accessories you want? Could def find some nicer wheels and steps for alot cheaper than the Toyota ones if ya search around a bit

$500 for tube steps, $500 for TRD Exhaust and $1000 for fake beadlocks...lol... RUN!

 

I agree - those are horribly inflated dealer prices. Get the part numbers and check with us on real pricing for those after market parts. You're better of installing them yourself; it shouldn't void your warranty to do so.

 

Horrible pricing. I got my 4x4 DC LB Sport for $27500 OTD............in Hawaii! (land where milk is $8 gallon).

 

try edmunds.com or kelly's blue book.com they will give you dealer invoice and how much the stealership marks up the price so you can compare. Also, if you are having this truck put together at the factory there has to be a subtraction for the cost of the stock parts. i got a DC LB with a few aftermarket items for around 29k. You shouldn't pay any more than $500 over dealer invoice.

 

carsdirect.com is a good one for price comparison or like others said edmunds.com. The price is way too high for an access cab. My 2011 2wd DC sport was $28k OTD.

If you purchase this vehicle for sticker you will be upside down for at least 2-3 years.

Like genxer said, I used carsdirect.com for my base price... I ended up emailing the internet sales dept at my dealership and they quoted me a better price than even carsdirect.

So, go through your dealership's internet sales dept if they have one.

 

I would give serious consideration to adding the exhaust and running boards yourself. I have seen the running boards for around $350.00 to $400.00 and the cat back exhaust exhaust can be picked up for around $400 also. The two of them together can be installed in less then 2 hours with basic tools.

The 16" wheel charge should be a credit, they are showing it as a charge.

Should not have to pay for "dealer doc".

 

I also live in Florida- and recently bought a Taco.

First of all, there will be plenty of people who got their truck for less, because Florida prices are different- shit is more expensive here.

That said, I got my Access Cab 4x4 TRD Offroad for 30,900 out the door (before applying my trade-in)... That included taxes, tag and all that stuff, so I'd say you are indeed over-paying...

Shop around, and as others have said, look elsewhere for your accessories.

As for the 'ordering' a truck thing, that is bullshit that you are being sold by the dealer (unless you are asking for a truly unique set-up).

Many options are added by South East Toyota- not by the factory. Many others still are added by the dealer themselves- not the factory.

What this means is that you dont necessarily need to 'order' a truck. You just need your dealer to find you one.

Be patient and explore all of your options.

Well, first off, you've got $4,000 of accessories that you are paying MSRP for.

But yes, the documentation fee is ridiculous. In some states there is a maximum they are allowed to charge for documentation - mine was less than $100.

I would also question what these "non-tax fees" are.

 

$31,500 for a PreRunner ... lol.
