Believe it or not, there is an SR5 package and an SR5 Xtra Value Package. I do not know if this is a factory deal or if it is something the regional distributor does(ie Gulf States Toyota). Was this the case with the older Tacos? (Older as in, '97-type models?) My dad's truck has A/C, radio, tilt steering and the variable wipers - but no SR5 marking. It's a stock I4, manual, single can. Doesn't even have a clock in it!

I see ones that are older than his with the "SR5" designation on the tailgate, but his doesn't have it.

I believe this is a true statement. If the OP has a TRD OffRoad then it is automatically an SR5.

Wrong, I have a/c and power windows.

Wrong, I have 6 lugs and the same stance as a TRD/Prerunner.
Wrong, I have a 4x4 that is not an SR5.

I have a "Base" model, without any TRD package or SR5 package. It is all listed on the paper work from the dealer with the 2 letter codes in the parenthesis, SE, SL SN designate an SR5 package. As you can see it has black bumpers/fenders/handles/mirrors/grill, also the dash is all back no silver. I have power windows/locks/mirrors (standard on double cabs) and no other 'conveniences'. I have 16in steel wheels and 245/70/16 tires.

You have a lot of this wrong.

First of all, you copied from Toyota.com and it's for the current model year and you have an '07. Those package designations can change from year to year and from region to region.

Second, tacoskm is 100% correct when he said "pure base model" because you don't have a base model, you have 4X4. The 5 lugs are the base models and are not 4X4 and can be had without A/C or power anything. What you have is a base 4X4 model, totally different than what he's referring to which is why he posted a picture of exactly what he was talking about.

Third, I already posted what a 2007 SR5 package entails.
As you can see, it doesn't mention A/C or power options. I would know this since I own one.

Did they offer a back up camera before 09 I didn't think they did thats why I didn't go off of the info on the toyota site. Also based on those packages that were copied from the toyota website my truck has all of the SE sr5 package but only some of the SL package. It has the leather wraped steering wheel but no wheel mounted radio controls no backup camera and no auto-dimming inside mirror with monitor. Thats why I brought the wuestion to the forum I thought the toyota website nolonger pertained to the 08.

I had no clue about the possibility of getting different types of SR5 packages, or even a non-SR5 type V6. That's really interesting.

Then based on that information you were able to confirm that- Yes you do have some form of SR5 package, which answers your original question and was the purpose of my reply. The only reason to really know what specific SR5 package the truck has would have been for the price, but since you already paid for it and settled for what it was equipped with it doesn't really matter since you are happy with the truck. Glad I could be of assistance to you and that you finally have a confirmed answer for your question.

I don't have the 5 lug regular cab truck and I do not have any form of any SR5 or convenience or TRD packages. I have a/c and power options due to those being standard on Double Cabs. So how am I wrong?

I have a 4x4 and as noted above, so how am I wrong?

:cool:Yeah it was copied from Toyota.com as mentioned in the post.

What you posted might be what is on your vehicle with a specific SR5 package, but which package options do you have on your vehicle?

Also the OP was questioning an 08 not an 07 like you posted.

A/C and power options are available in a convenience package that you do not need SR5 or TRD to have, but come standard on all 4 door models.

    Off topic but.........
Funny that my dealer paper work and my insurance has my truck listed as 'Base Model' didn't know 'pure base model' was a model. I'll have to stop by the dealer and check out the forms in the windows of all the different types offered. I'll ask about a pure base model too, but I'm pretty sure there are 4x4 base models, prerunner base models, and 5 lug regular cab base models, so I will verify at the dealer. So to say the 5 lug regular cab non prerunner non trd is 'the 1 and only true pure base model' is incorrect. Base Model means......NO TRD package.

You can have a 4x4 'pure base regular cab work truck' same as the pic he posted. So how does my 4x4 make it not a base model? Have you seen a base model prerunner that looks just like mine, check out Keason1, his is a 2wd Prerunner Base model with SR5 and not a 'pure base model', so you are wrong 2wd and 4wd have nothing to do with Base model status. 2wd-prerunner and 4wd we still have Base models, SR5 and no SR5 we still have Base models, because we do not have TRD offroad, sport or rugged trail packages.

    Back on topic....:)
I don't have any package options listed on mine, so I couldn't tell you for sure if the letter designation/options changed from 07 to 08 to 09, they are very similar and pretty easy for someone to decipher if they have a previous SR5 or NO SR5 at all and just slightly harder to figure out which SR5 package, not every single item has to be included to have a specific package as they do vary by region and year and even by body style. Also he would be able to search for package designations if he had those codes available on his paperwork. I simply offered verified information for an adult to make an educated judgement instead of 'my truck has this and my truck doesn't have that and I have an SR5 and I don't to make a judgement from. Maybe he wants to make sure he is being charged the correct amount for insurance and needed legitimate information. I just attempted to provide the OP with better information than what was being provided. Maybe only people with 08 SR5 Prerunner TRD offroad in his state should answer, then he would get more reliable information. Or call Toyota and give them his VIN and have them tell him 100% for sure.
