I have been using SilverStar Ultra head lights for a wile in my cars and tucks and have had good luck with the brighter light you get from them. For some reason my 2008 DL is eating them up. I'm Getting less then a year out of them. Does any one have SilverStar Ultra head lights in there truck?

I do drive a lot at night and early mornings but I'm thinking i shooed get more then a year out of them.

score as of this morning two full sets

    None yet! It's new!
It's always a trade-off. Brighter bulbs = less life. The filaments are usually finer/lighter, to create a brighter light and that means they're going to have a shorter life. Generally.

I had a set go out after about a year. I replaced them with el-cheapos and couldn't stand it, so I went and bought another set. It's worth the $35.

I have them in both the head lighs and fogs. I have never replaced any in the fogs (I use the fogs all the time) but I have replaced the ones in the head lights multi times.

Do you have the factory alarm that turns on the headlights for a few seconds every time you arm/disarm? That is a lot of extra hot/cold cycles of the bulbs if you do.

Try Phillips next time. They make a "Super Bright" bulb. I have had them for a year and no problems.

I have run the silverstars and the silverstar ultras in all my cars. Love the light but I too have to replace them at least once a year. Oddly enough, when I ran them in my Nissan and Pontiac I only had to buy one set and they went for two+ years (possibly longer but I sold the cars) but when I started driving Toyotas I am replacing them at least once a year. This goes for my 06 Taco, my 03 4runner and my 04 Corolla. With the exception of my taco fog lights, two years and running strong.
