there is no automatic option in regular cab 4wd. I just paid 20,000 even for a 2011 Reg Cab 4x4 5 spd. It has plenty of power for the Colorado mountains, you just have to shift early and keep the rpm's high on the hills.

    I love my truck.

There IS an automatic 4x4 regular cab- it is new for the 2011 model year.

Dealers aren't too willing to budge on the regular cabs as the mark-up isn't as high as most of the other models.

There is an auto option for 2011. I just got mine 3weeks ago. Really like the truck so far. Really liking the mpg vs. a Tundra. We'll see how it does next week pulling the the boat for 3 hours though.

That's odd. Toyota's website says you have to change to 2wd for an auto trans...

Looks like the only option you can get on a reg cab is a automatic trans and sliding rear window.I would like to have one with the SR5 package and trailer tow package but don't seem to be able to.

Got my 2010 reg cab SR5 manual for under $20k. Hard to haggle much because they aren't marked up and not many around.

The Toyota build your own web site don't give the SR5 package as a option. How did you get one? Is the web site wrong or different for different areas of the US?

Not sure honestly. She was sitting looking lonely on the lot and I got a good deal because they'd had her for over 6 months.

Toyota reduced the number of available configurations for 2011. In 2010 you could get an SR5 reg cab. Not so in 2011.

I have a 2011 regular cab with 4X4, auto with just over 5,000 miles on it. The engines and transmissions are tight from the factory and begin to free up around 4,000 miles. The engines have less maintenance than the V6 and the transmission has a dip stick making it easy enough to change the transmission fluid but it is not required for some time. The bucket seats beat the bench for allowing more adjustability. The maneuverability of the vehicle is very good. I’m getting 20 mpg around town and better on the highway. I also wanted a SR5 however as stated it was dropped.

I was wondering about the engine and transmission being tight from the factory. I've only rolled 1137 miles on mine and now I'm looking forward to see what its like once its broken in a lil more..sr5 and a v6 would have been nice options

I test drove a 2011 4x4 auto a coupla months ago when trading the 05 access cab 2.7 in on an 08 reg cab SR5 5 speed prerunner with buckets. The power was lacking IMO with all the 4wd stuff and auto. It had less pwr than my access cab 5 speed with 33s and lifted. MPG would suck or you'd get run over trying to get any mpg worth a crap was my impression. Not seeing how towing would be good for anything of any size or weight or any long distances and betting the mpg would really suck doing that.

I've hauled my atv which weighs around 400lbs. All interstate and got 24mpg and didn't have any trouble pulling hills.
