Usually when I need to carry more than my SB will carry, it's much more than a LB could do anyway. I have a utility trailer for that. Also the SB fits so much better in my garage. The LB doesn't come in the Off Road edition and I would have had to settle for the Sport. Now if I had a job that my truck carried all my tools every day, I would have a LB and a locking topper.

X2 now that I think about it, I have never once thought " man, I wish I had an LB for this, that would solve this problem"

I was torn. I wound up getting the sb due to the fact that I originally wanted a silver trd sport 4x4 with the JBL package. Seriously considered a Pyrite Mica trd sport long bed since I couldn't find a 4x4 w/JBL and liked the color since it was different. I wanted the lb for the room, I wanted the sb for the smaller size to fit in the garage. (lb would fit but tight fit) Ultimately the one I bought my silver trd sport sb was the only truck in the state I could find that had the JBL package and was equipped the way I originally wanted minus the lb which I was mixed on as for the garage thing, so it just felt like it was right. In the end I don't really haul that much and if I do I have access to a couple of utility trailers.

To me it's a matter of opinion. I like a lifted lb. Non lifted I kinda lean towards the sb. Off road wise if not lifting the sb is the way to go. So to me it's all in what you want/need it for and if/how you plan to mod it.

I've never needed a long bed, plus I think they're ugly. I love my shortbed.

I had a SB OR turd and wished I had a LB, I was tired of removing the tool box everytime I went camping. now I have a 4x DCLB. I have no issues parking and I would rather put on better aftermarket lifts and suspension then the OR kit would give me.

well for us. we needed a double cab 4wd truck. we have family in NY and if something bad happened we may need to get 5 people 11h from home in snow. and in sted of me getting dad's 4wd extended cab. and him getting a new one. we just got the DCSB TRD OR. we have a 7’ X 12’ open trailer. so if i need to get something and i don’t have room in tacoma. i can use tundra or the trailer.

Yeah that looks badass! Proportionately, a LB has to have at least 285s to look good and 305s = FTW. Unfortunately economy really goes to shit at that point. Probably need at least 4" lift?????

Lb look WAY better lifted IMO. Plus they sell for a higher premium on the used car market bc they are rare.

Up here in Canada , the longbed is far more common than the shortbed .

Probably because you cannot get a DC Offroad .

I would move up to a full size if I needed a DCLB. Something looks off on a stock LB, looks like a hotdog.
