This. Make sure your box isn't leaking air and your subs are wired up to the correct load. You may either be severely underdriving your subs, or your box may be leaking air causing it to sound terrible.

I wouldn't steer away from the CVR's quite yet, especially if you got a good deal on them. Our options for subwoofers are fairly limited due to space constraints, and some of your alternatives are going to be pretty spendy.

dude go to sonicelectronix.com and look at their speakers. i have two kicker cvx 12's on a kicker 1500 watt 2 channel amp and the slam. they have packages on there that have like two speakers amp for em box to fit your taco and all the wires. and they are a whole lot easier and cheaper.

not top of the line but still shouldnt sound like hammered ass if set up right. i have sold many customers sub and amp set ups for under 200.00 that still sound decent. can you post model numbers and pics of your box... need more info to help. as many pics as you have of your install.

i guess it depends on what you think is "loud"

and how can you even say that when you have no idea what kind of box its going into.....

i bet the damping factor on that amp is just trash

I'd say sell whatever your "friend" gave you and really go to different shops in your area. Research alot before you make a commitment to something. Kicker is a good brand of sub. Performence technique is a great amp! A 12 in sub is more than enough to make all of your mirrors shake!

If you research the company a little, you'll see sundown has pretty much the best customer service in the industry, and jacob, the owner is very applied and always trying new things/ making the old ones better.

amazing product considering the prices, everything is "over built" lets just say theyre the toyota of car audio :p great product great value.

the 2300 and 3300 are basically the same deck, i think. the 3300 probably just has more features. I love my 2300.

    http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_27995_Pioneer_AVH-P2300DVD.aspx

as you might have seen in my other link, the sundown sd-2 10's have a mounting depth of 4.75" and the supercrew sound box has a mounting depth of 5 3/8"

I actually emailed jacob and he said that the sd-2 10's will work fine in that airspace, providing the info given is correct from supercrewsound.

    check these puppies out
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybYXXCCigi0

lets see your kickers do that :)

i will however tell you what im concerned about is the sub hitting the back of the seat, i have yet to research this as this does have a high roll surround and beastly excursion (for a "slim" sub)

    anyways, stay classy TW

    thanks for the help man.
so that saz 1000d amp will power those 2 monsters? lol
and im stuck between the two. ill prly end up just going with the 2300 just because its cheaper but then i dont wana get it and be like ahhhhh fuck i shoulda got the 3300 ya kno?
well if i took the plastic cover off of the back of the actual seat would that create enough space for the sub?
