and I said before MOST, not all. The point being the first couple people to get it, or those who work in the ntsha or dealorships are on the forums before Most get the letter.

    Too many mods to list
How is that possible or legal? Warranty or recalls apply to factory vehicles... if it didn't come from factory with undercoating, that ain't your fault.

You are kind of countering your own point , you said that these issues are usually on the boards before the letters get into owners hands but the OP said he has a recall letter and this is the only thread on this issue with 05-08 Tacomas you can find on Google

Wow. Wondered if this would come out. I'm sure soon enough it will apply to the 09-11s. Really wondering how Dana is going to survive all this. Toyota sued their ass hard. As for those wondering who this might apply to ... there's only a handful of states involved in the frame rust recalls so far .. namely those states who use a lot of salt on the roads.

Don't take this image as gospel. I just googled a bit and came up with this image.

I honestly don't know, I had originally looked at a 2007 SR5 lease return and looked underneath it and thought "F*CK NO" to myself when I saw the amount of surface and weld rust on it. I then asked the salesman about the frame recalls from the prior years and he then went into the Toyota warranty items regarding rust, nearly verbatim, talking about "perforation rust" and everything with the body but not the frame...after much deliberation I went ahead, proceeded to another dealer and bought mine new with only 2 color options, white or silver, regardless of frame rusting issues.

When I bought my 06 back in may, the rust was pretty bad on the frame. Hope this applies. I wants me a new toyoder.

Yeah that's not quite right as Colorado does use salt .. usually 6% to 20% in the mix. And also magnesium chloride which is hell on cars. But I don't think CO trucks were included in the 1st gen recall either. I thought it was mostly NE and Midwest, plus eastern Canada.

My last post was a reply. Also It was not a recall. They called it a extended warranty.
