To fetch parts for a brake job on the 08 Jeep Wrangler

Now, not that I am Jeep bashing, but the Jeep chewed up rotors in 40k miles, while my 94 Toyota pickup (pre tacoma) only got 165k on the original rotors. And the only reason the taco even went to the auto parts store is when I dropped by on the motorcycle to get parts, the rotors were out of stock and I had to make a second trip.

I like jeeps too, just older, more reliable ones that I would only use to wheel. As a DD, they suck pretty bad

 

We live up in the national forest off a gravel lane and for the winter, the jeep can't be beat. As for reliability, it has been OK aside from a bad transmission.

Chewed up rotors on 40k miles? What else do you have going on there? Rotors should last a heck of a lot longer than that unless they're made of aluminum foil.

I have a TJ with 140k+ on original rotors. They're still smooth and true.

 

Owned a Jeep before the Taco myself.

In the winter they can't be beat, but that's really their only strength as a vehicle. They are noisy, the ride is harsh, the engine is gutless for the displacement, the engine is very thirsty for the displacement, corner cutting is evident all over (the motor will last, but the rest of the vehicle rots around it...)

They are fun, but like someone else said, not as a daily driver.

 

grooved and wavy, with distinct pulse in the brake pedal...now they are in the steel scrap bin at my local transfer station. MOPAR rotors always fail early...
