OK don't freak out on me because I am making another thread about this set up. I have been reading threads about this for the past hour but I still have not been able to decipher what I should do lol. I would like to run this set up with optimum ride height but people say different things about what setting you should/should not set your shocks to. So, with that being said...

What setting should the front shocks (with the coils) be at for maximum height and not break?

What setting should the back shocks (with coils?) be at for maximum height and not break?

Also what should I expect to spend for all four bilsten 5100 shocks and eibach coils?

The rear suspension setups of our trucks are leaf springs on a solid axle, so there are no rear coils and rear shocks do not add lift.

on 2nd gens, to get the full 3 inches you need to set the 5100's to the first setting, then have the coils put on tip of that. (Either the 1st or middle setting..I'm a 1st gen so i'm not too sure)

To lift the back you need to either put a block, add-a-leaf, or a new leaf pack.

And 5100's from downsouth motorsports are the cheapest, with coils from toytec. I'll look up the links for you in a sec.

    Edit: links-
    http://downsouthmotorsports.com/i-1...acoma-pre-runner-4wd-pre-load-adjustable.html
300 for the 5100's. But theres a TW discount that'll lower that. 150 for the coils. toytec has a discount code as well.

If you want to lift the back, toytec has a add-a-leaf as well for $78

The billy/toytec/eibach setup is what I have on mine, it's a great cheaper lift.

    Hope this helps! :bananadance:

Thanks!!! I know this is probably a really dumb question but when you say billy/toytec/eibach/ setup what does billy stand for? Also when I was reading stuff about this people kept referring to AAL's? What are those?

You might want to read up a little more on the Tacoma suspension. This thread is full of very useful info and is a good starting point.

AALs or add-a-leaf's are just that- they add a leaf into your leaf pack to give you lift.
If you look under your truck, in the back theres metal "leafs" that act as an articulating bow. They flex up and down depending on the driving surface- and theres more than one of them. Adding a leaf increases the arch of the leaf pack as a whole, providing lift.

I had 285's with a 3" lift and it would rub hardcore on the cab mounts when wheeling. normal on rode driving it wouldnt at all though. so the people tell you that all you have to do is remove the mudd flaps are either mall crawlers or full of shit

set the 5100's to .85 second setting with eibachs and top plate spacers you achieve just over a 3" but right at it. With that said running the toytec 2" AAL and 5100's in the rear it sits almost level
