Under Seat Storage Question

Under the rear seat on the DC, 2nd gen, is there a locking security box on the market to fit in that space?

 

I'd spend some time in a hardware store, find a lockbox that fits into that space and just bolt it to the floor. I know there are some smaller gun safes and regular lock boxes in all shapes and sizes, just might take a little searching depending on how snug you want it to fit.

 

If they break into your truck, just what is going to stop them from breaking into the underseat storage if you add a lock to it? Locks only keep normally innocent people from doing something stupid, and never stop a crook. If your truck's locking doors and alarm can't stop someone, what else will?

Even a 2 ton safe isn't "safe"... a locking compartment would be to temp store items out of sight with an added measure of security for trips to the store, beach, etc... nothing overnight per se. Just enough to keep, say a kid from grabbing a tool on accident, or a place to toss a valuable in a pinch... even a simple lock on a plastic box will take someone additional time to open, and any time is better than none at all!

Check out the website below. They should have something to fit your needs. I have a couple of the PacSafe bags I use to lock sidearms in cars and hotel rooms and they work well, they would be very difficult to get into. The hard car safes look good also but I haven't tried one of them.
