I don't wish bad things on another taco, but I would sue his tail off if I hit him with those tail lights.

If someone is injured because of his tail lights, then half the blame goes to you for cheating the system!!!

YES you can let him pay through the nose for new tail lights... he shouldn't have tinted them in the first place.

Thanks again for all of the input guys. I can appreciate both those who are pro and those who are against tinted tails.

Bottom line is that even for me (and I love the look) they came out to dark. I did a quick fix that same night by sanding down to tint off of the areas directly in front of the brake light and directly in front of the blinker.

Cool looking or not, I'm not going to risk the safety of my family or any other by making my truck unsafe.

This is how I've been driving my truck the past few days:

In the mean time I have been testing the the tint and darkness. It seem that 1 moderate coat or 2 light coats would work out perfectly, Not dark at all but you can see a small oamount of tint.

I'll probably finish the tails in a day or 2 and I'll make sure to post pics when I'm done. Thanks for the feedback!

Look safer, but looks like a young child used crayons and couldn't stay within the lines.

His friend will get another ticket and get sued later on.

Wow that wasn't very nice. :( But surely you have done it before? How about some tips for him on how you did it and pics on how your tint job came out? :)

Most of us would never tint our tail lenses because it's illegal most places, and couldn't be any easier of an excuse for the police to pull you over. I mean, you are just going to get ticket after ticket until you fix them.

He won't get a fix it ticket next time. I'd think that in some states he could be found in contempt of court for ignoring the court order and making false statements to the sheriff, something like that, claiming he had fixed it when he hadn't.

All in all, it's dumb and not worth the "cool" ghetto look

I wouldn't tint mine for the same reason. I don't like the Euro look of my tail lights so later down the line I'll get replacement ones. But slamming on somebody's work after he tried to make it safer by saying it looks like crap or that a child did it was not very nice. Or necessary. Was was the gain by saying that?

Once again guys it is NOT finished yet. The tail lights will not be unsafe as it will still show almost the same amount of light through as before.

Still I know that some of you don't like the look of tinted tails, again, I really have no problem with that. To each their own!

And still, I appreciate your opinions!
