How often do you clean your air filters? After Being in the Dirt?

    Hey, so I now have a TRD Reusable air filter. About a week ago I went down a 15 mile trail to get to the camp site to park the truck while we rode the dirt bikes. It was a crazy dusty trail.. and I'm wondering if it would make sense to clean the filter.

    I'm about 4k miles away from my next 5k mile service...

    Worth it to clean the filter?


    BTW, I definitely felt a slight power boost from the TRD filter when I changed it at 10K miles... the one that was in the truck was pretty damn dusty from desert running though...

    I would clean your air filter after a day of wheeling. If you don't wheel the tacoma I would clean it every 3,000 miles when you get the oil change done.

    There is no reason to bother with it. If it is a oil/gauze type filter they actually work better the dirtier they get.
