Largest tire with no lift but 1.25 in wheel spacers?

    This question has likely been asked before but I'm running a 2011 4door long bed 4x4 trd. Recently bought and painted 16in trd wheels off of a 2008. Wheel spacers are on the way and I'm trying to decide how big I could or should go with the tires. Will be getting a 3 in lift sooner or later but tires will come first. Any recommendations for a noob? 265 75 16 or can I cram 285 75 16 with spacers!? Thanks!

    i tried to fit 285's with 886 coils and 5100's, roughly a 3 inch lift with no spacers and they rubbed at full turn, slapped on some spidertrax 1.25" spacers and no problems, id stick with the 265/75/16's and put the spacers to give it a beefy stance

    edit: OR save up and buy your 3 inch lift with your 285's and spacers, thats whatd id do

    Yeah I would go with the 265 if you are going to put a sissy spacer lift on your tacoma... Haha.

    I suggest you get an OME lift so you can put those 285's on your rig. Ome make a good 2.5" lift!

    Thanks for the quick replies! I think I'll stick to 265 with wheel spacers for a wider stance. Won't hurt my fuel mileage as bad anyway!

    I dont know why everyone is so concerned with fuel mileage, its a truck. Its going to be shitty either way

    I went from a 2010 doublecab with a 3inch lift and 285/75/16's to a 2011 xrunner with 255/45/18's and im losing MAYBE a mile per gallon

    Its a truck man, if you wanted good mpg's, you should have bought a prius

    Then I'll ask this detective Dan, what lift and tire combo do you suggest I put on my new prius? Haha lighten up chief! 285s won't fit without more mods than I care to tackle at the moment

    I had 265's with 1" spacers and it rubbed so bad I had to get a lift. even with the lift it rubbed still so I installed Prerunner fenders.
