Most likely gonna be ordering some step-bars and possibly the light bar from Avid offroad real soon. Since they come unfinished was thinking powdercoat or Line-X type coating. Leaning towards the line-x type coating because I think it will be more durable in our SE PA winters. Does anyone know of a DIY type coating that's out there that I could use?

I'm going to be doing the same once I get my step bars and light bar. I just haven't decided if I'm gonna get the DIY stuff they sell in a can or just take it to a place that does Line-X or similar and have them do it.

Line-X should work pretty good or even a truck bed type of spray could work also. But just keep in mind, anything rattle canned will possibly chip here and there from highway debris like rocks and stuff.

Look up swamper, he's doing his whole truck in Raptor Line. It's a spray applied liner that comes in a kit.

Just googled that Raptor Liner kit. Looks like good stuff, user friendly and easy to use. Not too expensive either.

Now the next question for the Avid offroad step bars do them in black or have it tinted to match my timberland mica Taco? Opinions?

I've used the raptor kit to coat the entire underside and frame of my tacoma. Stuff works great even comes with a spray gun. Just be sure to scuff up the metal with sandpaper and make sure you spray the bedliner with no other vehicles around. The overspray will definitly get on to the paint. I learned this the hard way..I did a write up just search for my thread.
