    Hello,

Sorry to start a new topic on this, but today I was running the wiring for my New CTS Edge LCD Display in my Tacoma, (I will post pics of anybody wants) and I pulled out 2 of the blank plugs near the Fog Lamp switch and they both had harnesses coming out but nothing hooked to them. Does anybody have any idea what these harnesses go to or what they are for?

Thanks in advance for any help or input on this.

My guess is so you don't have to run wires throughout the truck instead there is some pre-wiring?

Yes, its pre-wiring but I wonder what are they for? is for something my truck might have then I just have to buy a switch and put a fuse in? theres 2 of them.

($500) Sure, I got an edge, one note on the Toyota, it doesnt allow you to change anything really, it allows you to see what the computer is doing. more or less its a Monitor screen for the OBD II System. I am a Nerd bigtime and like having gadgets. I will post a pic here shortly, if they are for the off-road packages could I turn my truck into a TRD maybe for a few hundred bucks?

On the topic, I am going to get my meter out and check for voltage on those harnesses too.

Ok, i am back. There is no voltage at the harnesses, but this could be due to the fact theres probably no Fuses installed for the Off Road Package as my truck does not have the TRD package on it. It's just the SR5.

They put the harnesses in but buying fuses and a switch won't get you anything your truck didn't come with.

Some searching will return lots of topics about this ..

one is for fog lights, which seem easy to add if the lights are also prewired.

There's a write-up here somewhere where a guy hardwired his portable GPS and ran the wire so it came out of the handle screw cover-piece. I'll see if I can find the link.

Edit: Here it is. It's not completely analogous to your wire situation, but I think it looks pretty clean.

I thought of mounting it to the big blank pannel that is on the right side of the deck. but then decided against it as the cord wasnt long enough and i still have to mount my Cell phone to the windshield. any comments on the edge display unit?

That's pretty cool. I have a UG which does the same thing as the edge but if I had money to blow I would get it just cuz it looks cool lol
