It should be permissible and lawful to burn thieves with fire if they are caught. The penalties are not stiff enough. Sorry OP for your trouble.

My buddies brother in law had his hitch stolen off his 06 Tacoma while parked at work, so add that to the list too.

I'm on Oahu, HI...and it's happening here as well. There are two incidences I've heard of in the last couple of weeks. They don't even bother to unplug the assemblies...they just cut the wires!

I say we should do this over our entire trucks. Won't be perfect but it should slow them down a bit.

    100% Agreed!
1st offense: Lose a finger from the hand they use, right or left. If they are ambidextrous they lose a finger from both.
2nd offense: Lose a thumb..same conditions apply from first offense.
    3rd offense: Lose a hand...ambidextrous...you lose both.

    Problem solved.

haha thats almost what they do i think, they take the finger from the hand you use then the hand you use if you steal again. i think it would stop a lot of people from stealing, you see someone with a certain missing finger and you know they are a theif!

If they take the finger then the next time they steal then there would be no fingerprints!! LOL!

I think it's a wonderful idea. Also I think it might cut down the prison population. Can't stand a theif!

i think loosing a finger or hand is way worse then jail time...they dont get that much if anything for stealing stuff like that, but they dont care what you steal, you lose a finger!

Not very common in my area... pretty glad. I don't have any tailgate deterrents besides my pistol if I happen to hear them popping it off at night while it's in the driveway.

This sucks and makes me angry just thinking about the time some low-life stole my truck from college campus. It was an 84 Toyota pickup, the very day of my Chemistry final I came out and was on the phone with my girlfriend. Sometimes I forget where I park but this time I looked everywhere and no luck = / I was more angry when I found it 3 days later with no tires, no rims, my amp and speakers were gone, they even stole my battery! It took me a while to get it back to where it was and I've had bad luck since with it. I may have to let it go soon.

BTW... the Dremel idea sounds really good. I did find some tires on craigslist that look just like the ones I had but there was no way of telling.
