Tough call, I kind of like the dodge cummins and the only thing I would ever buy a dodge for. Especially when you put performance parts. I don't know depends what you need a vehicle for?

Most people tend to prefer automatics in the 2nd gen tacos. In the end it depends on what you use your truck for

keep the cummins, i drive the dodge more usually but ive been alternating to keep some miles off it (03 3500 Dually 2wd DTT trans, straight piped 4" exhaust, and tuned up with a smarty)

Depends WHAT you use the truck for. If you tow a LOT, haul heavy loads a LOT, keep the cummins. If you tow few times a year and hardly use the truck bed, then having cummins seems pointless.

Even trade? Not in my opinion. The 6.7 alone makes that a much more valuable truck than the 5.7 and therefore technically worth more money than the Tacoma (per Nadaguides).

Now if you sell the Dodge for a good price, you should be able to buy that Tacoma and come out on top.

I regret letting my 2008 Hemi go. That truck never gave me problems. Not a single one.

Keep in mind that the 2008 has the limited lifetime warranty on the drivetrain. I don't believe they have that any more.
