I would agree that the mileage you are showing is very bad. There are a lot of variables here though such as filling to the same point every time. How much fuel is actually in the tank when your light comes on...

Have your plugs been changed recently? I got 2mpg back when I changed mine back in June.

I have gotten 13 before on regular unleaded 10% ethanol, driving like a teenager around town.

OP: Fill it to the top, run a tank through and fill up at the same pump. Note how many miles and how many gallons to fill back up. Then do the math. Anything else is speculation.

This is a good way to kill a fuel pump as others have noted on this board.

idk if the previous guy changed them..thats my next thing to do since i knew they were 30k intervals. And i filled it up with exactly 10 gallons and that's what i showed with conservative driving mixed roads.

I usually get around 160 to 180 miles on 1/2 a tank....don't usually run it too far past that point.

It's an 89 Toyota Pickup. I got some stuff done to it.. FJ axles going under it soon.
I ran out of fuel in my old Tacoma like 3 times..sucked vapor dry and everything.
It didn't burn the pump up or pull air into lines.

Now running a diesel out of fuel is REALLY bad...do you know how hard it is to get one of those bitches running again? :(

somebody help me out here, so OP has never filled up his tank twice, and thus can't give us an actual gas mileage?
