the 2wd is rated 19/25 and the 4wd is rated 19/21 (automatic for both)
anyway to get the 19/25 on the 4wd such as running street tires, etc?
    I see the 2wd drive runs P215/70R15 and the 4wd is P245/75R16
what are the reasons for the better mileage on the 2wd?
    thanks!

The reg cab 4X4 has 4.10 gear ratio and the reg cab 4X2 has 3.58 gear ratio. You notice there is only 1 mpg difference for city driving. Running 70 mph the 4X4 with 4.10 gears will be running more rpm.Running around town and rural local roads I don't think you will see a huge difference in mpgs.Maybe 2 mpg.The 4x4 has 16 inch tires and the 4X2 has 15 inch tires.4X4 is a 6 lug wheel and the 4X2 5 lug wheel.
