    some older allpro sliders have been known to flex under the weight of a person... just an fyi. demello probably makes some of the beefiest around. the hybrids or rock crushers...

    I wouldn't put another ALLPRO product on my truck... Weld on sliders can be very weak too! It depends how they are mounted and where the force is being directed on the frame. You cant just gusset a 2inch square tube on the frame. It needs to be welded onto a bracket thats at least 3/16 steal or more. If you do gusset the sliders directly onto the frame it can push right through and fuck your whole world up. You also need to find something that displaces the force of an impact across the entire frame. Problem with a bolt on is that your going to put the force only where the bolt is rather then an entire plate welded onto the frame... just my .02

    Almost all the sliders sold on this site by local vendors are BEEF and will do exactly what you want from them...

    I was just reading about some fit problems with some All Pro batches. Sounds like some quality control issues, inconsistencies in measurements.

    Actually both All Pro and Demello are within driving distance if I don't mind a 5hr road trip. Possible. Demello's website doesn't have pictures showing them off the truck. I'd like to see them in their entirety.

    Dang, both of these brands run $425 and $440 + shipping. Friggin sliders are expensive!!!

    not as expensive as rocker damage...

    i made my own... square tube seems to be the strongest. if you do dent them (i havent come close to denting them) they will retain structural integrity better than round. you put a dent in round and it ruins the whole structure of the tube.

    I beat the crap out of my truck and my bolt-on Shrockworks sliders have never failed me. As previously stated, they're pricey and have a lead-time but the quality is there.

    The only thing I wish they had was a kick-out, but that can always be added.

    Slider test: I had 5 full sized tires in the bed of my truck, plus several thousand lbs of plate steel armor...my truck is not light by any means

    Actually your right, sorry, that picture was before my rear swingout, full skids, onboard water tank, etc....right now she sits at 1800 over weight. But I have lifted her up on ths sliders as she stands now and they dont move.

    with 4"x4"x3/16" mounting plates it covered 3 or 4 big holes that were stock on the frame...

    welding to the frame will not weaken it when welding 3/16" of beef to it. Take a close look at the stock frame. its welded together. If toyota isnt worried about welding the frames together why would welding steel plates to the frame hurt it?

    Look at first gens. They say if you wheel hard you should weld frame supports to the rear of the frame.

    all the vendors recommend welding to the frame for serious offroaders.

    Do whatever you want but for something you dont plan on removing and want to be the strongest you can, welding is the way to go.
