Is it an Access cab or double cab. Also is it 4x4 or Pre-Runner? What is the sales tax rate in CA these days, 7.5%?

Not sure what the market is in CA but in Maine that's what a new 07 with those options goes for.

I think you can get it a bit lower. I'm in NJ and the Tacomas are going like hotcakes. I got the same truck as you but 4x4 minus the JBL system for $28,200 A guy I work with picked up a truck similiar to yours for 24k before Tax, Title and licensing. I bet with all that you could get it for 26,500. Check out Edmunds and see what the local market rate is on that particular model. Also check out carsdirect, and see what they show as a price for the same truck and go from there....Good Luck.

I recently purchased an 07 Access Cab PreRunner w/ TRD Offroad in San Diego. I paid about $3100 below MSRP on the truck including rebate. I used a site called http://www.carbuyingtips.com

On this site there is an excel spreadsheet: http://www.carbuyingtips.com/offer.xls which allows you to input the invoice pricing and the MSRP pricing and it allows you to figure out what would be a fair offer for the truck.

As far as purchasing I used the FAX attack where you FAX a letter to each sales manager in the area to get them to come to you with pricing and then you can play them against themselves. I can send you a copy of what I sent if you would like. I just need an email address.

Also for $35 you can purchase a buying package from http://www.fightingchance.com This gives you the invoice pricing and all relavent information to get the best deal on the truck. I have a version of it for the Tundra as I was looking at purchasing a Tundra, but ultimately decided to go with the Tacoma because I decided that I didn't need that big of a truck. I can also send this information if needed.

I agree. For California, that sounds like a pretty good deal.

I have almost the same set-up except mine is an access cab. Sticker on mine: $26,153...OTD price $25,340.65; worked out to be $500.00 below invoice. However, this was a special corporate deal with I had with Toyota. Therefore, based on the numbers your quoting and considering your buying in CA... yours seems like a good deal.

Yes, 3K would be a good price reference the sticker but the OP was talking OTD(which includes all assoc costs to walk out of the dealership:tax, title, dealer prep fee's,manufacturer advertising fee's,etc.)

i told the dealer i flat out refused to pay any extra fee's other than tax tag and title. I said if i saw any kind of handeling fee, or dealership fee or transport fee (it was brought in from out of state) the deal was off and i would walk off no questions asked. i paid $26,500 for mine OTD and there wasn't a single fee on my bill. You have to tell the dealer what you will or wont do and be firm and be willing to walk out on them. Thats the only way you don't get screwed.

    So here's the figures:
    $28,415. MSRP + $400. for a preinstalled alarm
    $25,650. Quoted + $400. for a preinstalled alarm
    $28,065. Otd includes alarm
    28,065 - (25,650 + 400)
I guess it more like $2,015. under MSRP.
Sorry if I sound dumb, but am I doing this right?
