Well, after a bit of shopping this week, we signed the papers on a Barcelona Red Tacoma this afternoon. There was, if you believe the dealers, only this one truck left within 200 miles of Seattle.

2011 Baecelona Red regular cab, 4wd, 5spd 4cyl. Came with the ultra rare 4.10 gears and intermitent wiper delete option. As part of the deal, the dealer graciously supplied street oriented tires to help increase my fuel economy and save the endangered rhino monkey's native habitat, from which all offroad tire rubber apparently comes from.

To prove my manhood, I also opted to forego power windows or locks. To save a bit of weight, I also asked them to delete-option the light inside the glove box. Thankfully, Toyota was happy to comply with all my delete-option requests, and as luck would have it, this fine little rig was nearby. :D

When we first saw it, there were 22 miles on the odo. We rolled on an unheard of 2 miles on our test drive, thus the total you see here.

The first stop on the drive home was a car audio shop to see what proper speakers, a small amp and an 8" sub and custom enclosure would tally up to. More than I'd hoped, but possible. We'll see. The factory rock-box is kinda weak when I plug in the old iPod. Still, it'll be fine for the near future and my commutes to work.

Now, on to the money shots of what the poll here claims is the third ugliest color on the Tacoma. :D Heathens.

Loaded up the dealership sign and took it home - that's how much we love this truck!

It was a busy day for the little truckster today. Added another 162 miles on a run to Cabelas and Ikea this evening. Trouble was, it was all paved roads. :(

Though I have to admit, the stretch of the I-405 through Bellevue WA rides like a potholed dirt road!

Next up, the list of farkles is to be made!

...and is that relaly what Toyota thinks a transfer case skid plate is? Geez...I think I know one item on the list for sure...LOL

Overall, I have to say my wife and I simply love the new truck. Not just because it's new, but because its just great. Comfortable on the highway, maneuverable around town. Parks easy. Very quiet inside. Can't recall the last time I used mirrors so freakin' big! It's like having to small televisions to watch...:D

I think this is gonna be a fun...:)

Now I know how Marty McFly must have felt when he opened the garage door!

    Welcome!

And FYI, Barcelona Red is the best color!

If I were to get a little offroad rig, chances are good it'd be a simple color like cream or silver.

Nice truck. Like your humor. I also bought a Barcelona red 11 near Seattle a few weeks ago. Mine is a double cab long bed 4x4 sport, so about as much of the "ugly" paint as you can get, lol. I love it though. If I see ya around, ill give you a wave!
