    - Rancho 2.75" quick lift with Skyjacker leaf packs - Rancho 9000xl adjustable shocks - 32" tires - New 16" wheels with "0" off-set - Borla ProXS exhaust - nfab nerd bars - Weather Tech floor mats - Wet Okole seat covers
I just put on a new set of tires and wheels. I have a 2.75" lift in the front and a 3" leaf pack lift in the back.

The wheels are off set (0 I think) with about 1/2 outside the wheel well. The rub happens just on the inside of the front bumper, the front mud guard and sometimes on the front mudflap behind the tire.

I can cut away most of the plastic, but I'm hoping for advice before I do that. I will be taking the truck off-road and I'm wondering when the suspension flexes if I will have even more challenges.

I'm hoping to keep my setup. I like the clearance and the look, but now I'm wondering if I will need an even larger lift?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

What is the backspqacing on your wheels? Mine are 4.5 and all I had to do to get rid of all rubbing was remove the mud flaps, I have the same tire size and a 3" lift no rub at all on road or off.

I'm not exactly sure. My tire sticks out from the wheel fender about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch.

My tire is directly rubbing the mud flap behind the tire. Do you have some pictures of yours?

Also, I had BF goodrich allterrain KOs and just changed them to the Goodyear silent armors. They ride much smoother and rub less. Same size but the tire is cut a bit different and is a much better ride with less rub. 285-75-16s.

Did you take both the front and rear mudflaps off? Is there a better way to avoid a fix it ticket? When you wheel off-road how extreme of a flex have you had?

    Thank you for your advice.

with that size tire you need to remove the front mud flaps with very few exceptions

of course with more flexing offroad you will find more rubbing issues and have to do more trimming and most likely a cab mount chop

What is a cab mount chop? I'd like to hear from someone who has done one to see pics or what needs to be done. Thanks again!

i am running 285's (KM2's mud terrains) on 17" procomp 7089's, 4.5" back spacing and 0 offset. i have a toytec 3" lift set at 3 1/4 in. lift in the front. i removed my mud flaps at first and it helped until i went wheeling and still had rub in certain situations. i had to do the pinch weld mod and cab mount chop. i don't have any pics available but it is easy to do both if you don't mind cutting into your cab mounts, the pinch weld mod is easy also.....i can post pics when i get back home after the weekend.

I would think you should be able to just pull the front flaps and do some minor plastic trimming in the wells where it rubs. If you wheel you will need to do the cab mount chop....just do a search as there are many threads with pics.

WRX: Do you wheel in yours? I am not going to be doing any rock crawling, but there will be a few jeep trails where I will have some pretty good off camber situations where I like to go camp or fish. I would rather size down my tire then chop or cut anything. Does anyone have suggestions for a 16" rim with approximately a 3" lift?

Toytec ultimate lift kit, Total Chaos UCAs, spidertrax spacers, mudflaps removed, 4wd badge where "prerunner" usually goes, wicked flow 13" muffler, sound ordnance b-8pt sub-woofer.
I run pretty much same setup as yours. Stock rims, spydertrax spacers, 285/75/16... Dunno what backspacing for that totals. I've wheeled it, it rubs sometimes but really isn't an issue. Happens most often when I take a turn at speed (even on the street), or off road when I hit a dip or bump too hard from going fast. Biggest pain in the ass is that the rub sets off the traction control and kills the throttle, but that shit is disabled in 4x4 so it's a non issue when wheeling.

Thanks guys. After some rubbing, the tires seem to have worn off parts of the mud flaps and the mud guard plastic. A little less rubbing now. I am going to leave it and hope it's a non issue. Thanks again to all who replied.
