A plain WRX is far from an Evo... You're thinking of the WRX-STi and I would say both Evo's and STi's are ricers and I don't mean that in a bad way. I classify a 'ricer' as small displacement engines, loud and with wings on the back. In the Evo's and STi's case, they are loud, put out a lot of power, fun as hell to drive and the wing is actually meant to keep the car planted not a stupid decoration. Ricer can also be derogatory when referring to a poorly supped up Civic :D

why pay 7 to 8000 for for a sti and have higher insurance and payments when you can take a wrx with about 40 less hp and do a few little mods and outrun an sti?? Not to mention you gotta love the look of ppl when their in a sti and get outrun by a wrx :)

I'm not thinking of an STI. I've owned two WRXs. I kinda know this stuff. And by the way, stock STIs and EVOs are far from loud.

ive thought about the refinancing but my truck has around 110,000 miles on it and i wouldnt want to refinance it and then pay it off in 10 months or so.. seems almost like it would be more trouble than its really worth. and i know whoever ends up with my truck can have the enjoyment out of it like i did

    of course
Allow me to atate the obvious:
in 14 months, you save $500 a month by paying off the truck. 14 times 500 is 7000.

new WRX comes with $300 payment for 60 months. 60 times 300 is 18000

truck is 7000 and clear in 14 months
WRX is 18000 and 60 months of payments

You save 11000 by keeping the truck. Your money, your call.

Little of both, it was meant to be emotionless and I like the thumbs up guy... I thought the STi was loud for a bone stock 4 banger and the only Evo I've been in was pretty highly modified so it was loud as hell. Doesn't really matter to me regardless, I've got no intention of ever owning one so I'll defer to other's who have them. I couldn't do without the pick-up.

As someone who went from a WRX to a Tacoma, I say dont do it!
unless you plan on keeping the truck as well. the truck is MUCH more comfortable. sure the wrx is AWD and turbo charged, but unless you plan on modding it too, the turbo lag gets old quickly.

No worries man. I guess they are louder than most, but not as loud as say, a rally car. I agree with you on the pick up part- that's why we sold our WRX (again) to buy a Tacoma (again).

Just ran out and washed the Tacoma and I couldn't find 1 reason I'd sell it! Had it for 6 years last month with now just over 90k and it runs as good as the day I first turned the key. I'm banking on another 180k out of it as long as the economy holds up. But it was paid for the day we left the lot, so money would have no effect on keeping or replacing. I have other vehicles to do that with :)

Not to drop in and be a dick, but calling civics 'ricers' and then talking about putting rims and 'decking out' a corolla s is a bit contradictory....

Rice has nothing to do with what kind of car it is, rice is just untastfully modding a car with no general purpose in mind. I have a few friends with well built civics that run around sti's all day long.

If your truck is almost paid off and your about to buy a house keep the truck. It is a higher payment but its almost paid off instead of having 5 more years of payments. And you know theres no way your going to keep that thing stock.
