I forgot to say, Take a piece of paper or black tape and cover your VIN #, if some one has a "dirty" inside guy at a dealer all they need is your VIN to cut a key.... There is a list of goofy instructions to program a blank key and sink it to the car so you can start it up.. If you want to go and cover all of your bases install a kill switch like some of the other guys said...

Thank god I live in the great state of Texas lol. Ms. ar15 aka Monique (b/c shes big and black =D ) would be happy to escort whoever off my property.

On a serious note... how lite up is your driveway as well as the neighborhood streets? My street and ally has cars moving in all times of the night... they do have alarms that have a trip sensor has if someone was to tilt the vehicle... might want to look into that

Yeah, surprising that they would go out into the cold night to steal a truck when they could be nice warm in their log cabins.

2-way Alarm. Motion activated flood lights with some kind of Anti-Tamper device on it or maybe one of the square one's where they can't unscrew the bulbs, I'm assuming that's what they did. Kill switch to fuel pump or maybe off the ignition relay?

I have lights, cameras, Shot guns and handguns. Truth is if they want it and your not watching it every minute, they are going to get it. Even if you cover the VIN, they can get the VIN off the mail that Toyota sends you. Every time I got some winterize special or summer time special coupon from my dealer, it has my vin on each coupon. So if your a crook with a friend at a Stealership, they will find ways to make a key and get it. NOW With all that said, I found a way to keep the thieves from stealing my Tacoma. I SOLD IT YESTERDAY! I MISS IT! Hope to get another one someday.

The best solution posted yet. I am embarrassed someone beat me to it.
The truck may smell like dog, but it will stay where you left it.

If you think they drove the last one away with a working key, then your only hope to stop them once they are in the driver's seat is to install your own kill switch. I would find the wire going to the fuel pump and put a switch in that can be reached, but not seen from the driver's seat. If someone sees you leaning over to flip a switch in the glovebox or something, then the switch is worthless. Combine that with something else that gives them some time pressure, maybe an alarm with backup battery and a hood lock to keep them from shutting off the noise by disconnecting your battery. An alarm with a two way pager would let you know something is up. A barking dog would work well also. If you choose to confront them, make sure you consider that they may outnumber you and there's a good chance they are willing to kill you to get away. Plan accordingly.

At least it wasn't Mexico. Did anyone else read that story about the American family who saw their stolen Suburban on TV with their California plates and "La Policia" written on the door? My guess would be they still don't have it back.

Cool stuff, a few hundred bucks for your windows, you can hit it repeatedly with a hammer and it will hold up!! Cool stuff..
Sorry you have to put up with crap like this, sucks..
That's pretty easy to bypass...just FYI

My vote is to build or add a garage to your house...if that isnt an option then light up where you park the truck like the GD surface of the sun...make sure you have a proper alarm that will trigger the horn or a siren when the truck is tampered with

With that being said...if these folks are really pros and not just looking for a joyride...then if they want it...they'll get it...

Just make sure you keep high quality insurance on it and dont leave anything you would miss in the truck

Lojack is also a good idea too
