Hey guys.... I went to town yesterday and the shift lever was VERY stiff (automatic..V6.. 2006.. Model TRD off road)... I went to set the cruise control, as usual, and it would not set....... I drove all the way to town and NO cruise control....AND the indicator on the dash would NOT show gears 1 & 2...

THe shift level seemed really stif...( this happened once efore).. Anywhoooo... I got to town and stopped in a parkijg lot... Run the shift lever up and down multiple times...... It finally cleared up.

    Anyone ever have this problem....???

I went to the dealer last year about this, but they had NO idea what was going on....

    Thanx.... Mountainman

Sounds like an issue in the shift lever, not the tranny itself. I'd look into replacing the whole assembly. Sounds like something in there is coming out of spec and jamming.

Spill some Slurpee in there recently?

In my line of work I put a LOT of miles on Mercedes-Benz drive trains (373,xxx) I had a similar issue a while ago, the merc tech said it was "dirty sensors" not sure if that was truth or a lie but it hasn't done it since then.
