Siren sound when pressing the gas

Just realized that there is a slight siren resonating sound that I get when pressing the gas. I noticed it at freeway speeds (55+). It's kind of like a radio interference siren sound. I never really noticed it before because I usually have the radio on, but it is a little annoying. Is this normal? I am thinking maybe throttle body noise?

 

Do you have any aftermarket stereo equipment?

 

It could be alternator whine if you have aftermarket radio. Does it sound like a turbo or a super charger whine?

Yes but the noise does not appear to be coming from the speakers. I am going to clean the tb and replace the air filter later. I will see if the noise remains.

 

could it be the windshield seals buzzing? there is a TSB on it.
Mine does it occasionally.
When I first heard mine I thought it may be a radio issue, but.... it wasn't

Update:

I drove around town to check it out again and could not duplicate it. I thought I must have been ultra sensitive the other day. Then I decided to drive fast on the way back and put it in 5th gear. As soon as I hit 62 mph, the noise started up again and continued as I increased speed. It is definitely too annoying of a whine to ignore. Almost certain it is not coming from the speaker (stuck my ear up to the speaker and there was no difference). It is a howling wind siren noise like I remember coming from my old Ford truck carburetor.

I'm going to pull the air box, clean the maf and tb, replace the air filter and pull the secondary filter. I'll report back later to see if it fixes the issue.

 

Maybe try peeking at the stickies once and awhile...

Your problem is the fourteenth item on the list if I understand your brief description correctly.

 

Update:

I did all the things in my last post (replace filter, remove secondary, clean tb and maf) and now the problem appears to be gone for the most part. There still appears to be a wierd sound but it isn't nearly as bad and almost sounds like it may be the tires. I think the filthy throttle body may be to blame. I feel a little better throttle response from changing the air filter and removing the secondary. The added bonus is that the idle vibrations seem to have gone away. I'll call it success.
