    got the winch in my arb bumper today, just waiting for the rest of the parts to come in. how do you guys wind the rope to the drum? after i hook up all the electrical connection i'm just going to turn the winch on and let the roll the rope in, is that a good idea?

    I've never spooled syn, but I think the links I posted cover it.

    Some also spool it on criss cross chaotically. Line goes under not over.
