If you do not need a double cab getting a reg cab makes since.More room in garage and better MPGs.I traded a 4X2 excess cab for a 2012 4X4 reg cab 5 speed two weeks ago.Got 1600 miles on it already. Most people who complain about MPGs have double cabs.More weight means less MPGs.It will take you a few days to adjust but you will like it.

Sorry for your loss and congrats for your gain. I like the '12 more everytime I see them. I loved my reg cab, couldn't get it stuck no matter how hard I tried. Good luck with the new truck and getting it stuck

Are you getting the 5 speed or automatic? I like a automatic but was concerned that it would be shift hunting too much.If you drove both since you live in a mountainous terrian what is your opinion of the 5 speed vs automatic with the 4 banger?

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
i would definately go with a 5 speed, i drove a 4 banger with a auto and it was an absolute turd compared to the manual.

Why spending money on a lift if you are trading down to get less truck with lower monthly payments?

    Loving my regular cab btw.

I'm always surprised by the amount of stuff I can stick behind the bench seat. I've had a few backpacks and luggage back there before I had my bestop.

I went from regular cab to access cab. The power of regular cab was fine, the 5 speed sucked 1st to 2nd shift was funky, but all I could live with.

I ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT STAND THE FUCKING BENCH SEAT!!! I drive 20k miles a year and the bench seat was hurting my back big time. My payment went up $80/month way worth the comfort. The TRD OR seats are amazing!
