I've read "One Second After" and really enjoyed it. I actually liked it better than "Patriots".

Read both. I dont remember which is which but the one with the "mutant zombie bikers" was just ok... it got to "technical" for me.

One of my favorite series has been "surviving the zombie apocalypse"

I thought you might like some of these bed storage mods that I am looking into. I have a fiberglass camper top and want to be able to install slide out drawers like these. But have a stationary platform that I can still sleep on top of without unpacking the entire truck.

I just built mine. No drawers but I can utilize a lot of space and still reach the back

I went to a local lumber yard. They had Russian birch that came in 60" width - nice strong plywood also.

I ripped it down to 57 1/8" width and kept the length 60". I notched the edge (closest to the tailgate) where the bed comes in. Dropped it in and fit like a glove.

I put carpet over it and some coretrax so I can tie things down with. http://www.realtruck.com/core-trax-tie-down-track-system/
    Got 2 sets of 48"

The russian birch seemed strong enough and didnt move much even with me on it - but I still ripped a 2x10" down to 2x9" (60" length) and ran it up the center for support.

    Wood and carpet - $100
    Coretrax: $150

    I have a question.

How many 20L NATO Jerry cans Should I carry? I was thinking 4? or 5? with 2 spouts? - Thats roughly 20gal and with a full tank, that gives me ~600 - 800 miles range. - All things considered.

I have a similar system with action packers - essential camping gear in 1 and the other for optional/as needed items.

I use the sawyer squeeze filter. Been using it backpacking for years. Small and easy to use. Fits in a glove box. And best of all - pretty cheap.
