So I was out at lunch yesterday with some co-workers, and they all know I recently bought my 2006 Tacoma, but none of them have seen my Satoshi Grill since I finished it last weekend. One of my co-workers turns to me and says "I see you ghetto-fied your truck..." :jerkoff:

I just about told him to go f-himself, but then he added to it, and said something about not having any badges on the front of my truck.

At this point I just went back to my lunch, and mentioned that my TOYOTA emblem was in the mail, and that my grill was a custom job, by me, that I thought it looked very good and would look even better once I got my new emblem on.

Anyway, thought I would share some photos, now that I let off some steam.

I will also add that my co-worker is still single and 40+ years old, and he isnt dating, and no one in my office knows when he last dated anyone, and I am just over half his age and married to a hot wife. :p

Ask him how much Toyota, Ford, Dodge, Chevy, etc (whatever he drives) pays him for the free advertising he's doing on the front of his truck

    Your truck looks great!
You sound like you have your act together, are talented, succesful socially etc. It probably makes him jealous & it is how it comes out from that guy.
Over time, I learned not to pay attention to debbie downers or let anyone ruin my day.
10' tall and climbing as one of my friends says!
    Congrats on the mod

I love the satoshi mod, only negative i have heard about mine is that it looks like something is missing or that i got hit in the front (both from the same guy) but he knows its different and cool, so he still respects all the work i put into doing it. It doesnt matter to me whether or not others like it, cause i like it and they can kiss my A*# if they disagree.

I'm not a huge Satoshi mod lover, although some turn out pretty clean. But I agree to a point that it almost looks like something is missing in the front. That is not to offened anyone nor should those guys have made fun of your truck, mine is just personal oppinion. I think your truck looks great bud
BTW what do those guys drive, chevy trail blazers lowered SS style

    yea...
take it with a grain of salt. My parents & friends laughed at my grill for the first couple weeks...then it grew on them.Once I added an emblem they thought it looked cool lol
I too heard the "Ghetto" comments.

We have to take into consideration that not everyone will like the mods We do to our trucks. Just like the huge lifted bro dozers most of us make fun of... they like their truck. just my .02.
    your grill looks sweet btw!

He drives a 2011 Infiniti G35S Sedan, it is a nice car, and I was in it last week and let him know that I thought it was a nice car. But no respect for my new (to me) Tacoma.

I got my mesh from HomerTaco here at TW, and it looks great, he has quality mesh, and is a great guy to deal with.

It took about 5 weeks, working one weekend day on it at a time to get everything done, I also work slow and have OCD. I drove around for a long time without a grill at all. Got a comment one day while I was grill-less "Your radiator is super cooled..." I also have never done anything like this before, my previous car was Pontiac G6, with a 4cyl, I did nothing to that car except normal maintance. My neighbor did most of the painting because I am terrible with a spray can. It is suprising how a small pocket of air in the fiberglass can cost you so much time in bondo and sanding...

Yep I realize that this :jerkoff: is jerkoff, because that is what he is, the 40 year old virgin. I am also pretty sure he has no idea how to use a grill or a wrench, I work with some pansy ass folks.

Thanks for all the comments, I am super happy with it. And as a huge plus, my wife thinks it looks great too, and she isnt normally into this kind of stuff. She keeps asking me when the TOYOTA letters are going to show up, because she agrees it looks like something is missing and that once the letters are on there it will look awesome. I agree, and cant wait. I have been backing in wherever I go to show off the new grill, it is the only grill mod in my area, and I live near a Naval Base, so I thought there would be more, but there are lots of Tacomas, most of them are completely stock though, but still they are all very cool. Love to see other Tacomas.

Sorry no shots of my wife, she is very clear about no photos of her on the webs. Ill just say Double Ds and I like them that way... :D
