hey im in school too, the avid bar is great, i have bumped a few things and no problems. Its really a great bar thats not too expensive and provides a little bit of protectection that can occur from everyday drving (people leaving their buggies out the parking lots, small animals, ect)

anti bull bar cuz most of the time they just act as a plow in the winter time (as people have said), or they just get caught on things as they mount so low (summing up what poeple have said)

A grille guard will LOOK the part. However, if a "situation" ever arises, it will cost you more when it gets pushed into your hood.
I ran into a snow bank a week ago, it shattered my bumper. I'm getting a plate bumper for serious protection.
Along the lines of protection, I ran into/over a deer with an ARB bumper and all i got was fur in my winch.
