the ones I was trying to fit come from a pop-up tent trailer. The pop-up tent trailer had four electric lifts with a single switch but two are broken and can not find exact replacements. I got several emails from people who use this idea for loading and unloading ATV in the pickup.

Personally, I think the whole idea is pretty dumb... they make mid-rise and hi-rise caps if you need more head room. Buying a system like that seems like a waste of money in my opinion. If you need a shell and still want the versatility of using your bed, get a soft topper.

that would be pretty cool for camping, im sure you could get a insulated covering to go around the open space when the topper is up so you could keep it all closed in

Lift kit, weight distribution hitch. Camper shell. Kayak Rack.
I like the concept but I do not think I can trust this unit. It says that it bolts on to the bed rail. My camper shell weighs probably about 150lbs. At highway speeds amount of downforce and air pressure against a raised shell will make it wobbly and prone to want to lift off the bed of the truck especially since it is not actually fastened to shell itself.

I have a full airbag setup that I have never put on my now sold sporty car that I have been wanting to utilize. I figure a better use of air pressure would be to lower and raise a bed subdivision for my scuba tanks and scuba gear. Currently its up on 2x4's with carpet etc.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I've thought about doing something like this with mine for expedition camping trips. It's a pretty cool idea if you don't want to have a IMO ugly high rise camper shell.

I have a six cylinder/six speed manual so I can go to many off roads that only a jeep can follow. I did not want a high raise, it just looks cheesy. But its for camping and hunting, hard sided mini off-road lodge, a miniature expedition back woods RV. I can lock it down when not in use with C-clamps. I just finished a test fit with an old aluminum topper. I use a portable drill to turn the four corner treads. The screw rods are three feet long. But the front jams up. It is great for rain/snow weather and snaps down tight when on the black top. I would never try to travel with it up. With a side bunk and a small foldup table with stove its the best little RV and the beer cooler fits as a step up. I can almost stand-up, at 6 feet. Boondoggle baby. Planning to hit Glacier National Park this summer and I was looking for a small camper for the back trails couldn't find one so I build one..
