I got a coupon in the mail today from my local Toyota dealership, 10% off any accesory. I want to get a Front Skid Plate or Bed Mat, but I know that I can get it cheaper online, but the 10% off coupon might bring the dealer price down enough to make it worth while. I was wondering if any of you have gotten the dealership to price match internet prices? If so what websites do they honor, what do you need to bring, and who do you talk to? I usually go in and talk to the parts guys and then go pay in the service department, who do I haggle with on the price?

I am a Parts man for a Toyota dealer in NC. We will price match only Offical Toyota Accesories sold by and authorized Toyota distributor. No TRD parts. Their pricing is set and there is no give with them. Pricing match must include all shipping, handling charges and appropriate taxes when they apply. We have had a lot of success in AllTrac Community.

In the past - I have called several different dealerships for prices on various items.

I've then - called my local dealership and told them about a cheaper price at another dealership (usually an online price) and my local dealership HAS honored the prices (which is amazing, cuz my local dealership sucks!)

However - its a toss up. The price better be really good because if I get it locally, I do save on shipping costs but I have to pay sales tax.

Depends on the dealerships...they're all different and do things differently. YOu'll just have to call around.

I called my local dealership to check the price, and WOW, they redefine stealing...

    Skid Plate - $238 + tax
    * Can be found for $170+$15 shipping (no tax)

Short Rubber Bed Mat - $200 + tax
    * Can be found for $85+$10 shipping (no tax)

So much for using the 10% off coupon they sent me...

I'm currently replacing my hubs in the front wheels. Ordered the hubs on parts geek but they didn't include the inner seals. The dealership wants $40+ per seal while O'Reilly's charges $20.

The parts dept at my dealership will either match or come close to online prices. With the amount they overcharge they can afford to come down alot. Looking at oem batteries the dealership wanted around $160 (including free instl) but after talking with the parts dept he'd come down to around $100 if i install it myself.
Oil filters... the parts dept used to charge me around $6... after talking them down to online prices and buying per case i now get them for around $3.50 ea.
