armrest mod material question

I tried doing the armrest mod today out of some material that's kind of like polyester and blue jeans. My problem is that the armrest would keep bunching up even with a hair dryer and I couldn't get all the wrinkles out. It didn't stretch good. Walmart didn't have much to choose from and I don't know where else to get material or leather. Has anybody tried a material other than leather that works and where can you buy it. Is leather hard to get the wrinkles out too or should this be easy.

might try a fabric store for leather imitation naugahyde

 

I would try a fabric store but all we have here is walmart, ill pronounced have to order some

 

I read that some adhesive would make the leather bubble up in the heat. Hows yours holding up with loctite

 

Could Use neoprene. I have some standing by for when I get around to doing mine.

 

I saw someone had used some synthetic perforated leather that looks like the top of the door panel. It looked real good. This is one of the most nagging undone mods on my truck! So wanting to get past the procrastination and knock this out. Keeps getting outprioritied somehow........

Where do you find the perforated material that is like the top of the door panel? That is how I want to do mine.

I plan on doing this mod one of these days...got some thin black leather that we used on the interior of aircraft and the thin foam backing. What adhesive would you recommend?

 

A lot of people get a sheet of neoprene from Wet Okole and install that to match their seat covers.

Quite a few did that in the latest Wet Okole group buy.
