2012 Intake, What brand should I go with and where should I buy it from??

I am going to order my intake tonight. I don't know what brand i should go with. I like how there is a TRD one, however I don't know if its worth the extra money over the others.

Anyone have any input?

Also, where should I buy it from if i get the TRD one.

 

Don't bother none of them are worth the money. You already have a cold air intake

 

huh? truck doesn't come with a CAI.. Factory one is the sux in any car/truck

 

X2 just buy an aftermarket drop-in filter and it's just as good as any aftermarket CAI

 

a lot of people on this forum arent big on CAI's. People have done dyno'd their tacomas with various different ones and from what i remember, none of them are beneficial to have, unless you just want sound. No MPG or HP increases.

 

Well the truck is getting super Charger, so the Factory box isnt going to cut it... I didnt want people to bitch about if they work or not, i just want to know what the guys are running and if they are happy with it.

Engine is a vacuum - I will leave it at that..

Snorkel. It will actually improve your gas mileage.

 

I have a K&N CAI, and it just makes cabin louder. People on here (i think chris actually) dyno'd with CAI and without, results can sometimes suggest a power loss with CAI, * i think, again i think chris did those. Not entirely sure who did though.

 

X2, and running it with the Pro Dry S filter means you don't have to deal with the filter oil.

 

This one looks like the bottom is cut open, I wanted to keep it sucking in air from the fender.

My old truck did have a snorkel, it made the gas mileage really bad...

I used to have a lifted with 33's Pathfinder , with a CAI, i would be able to keep up to a stock Pathfinder .. so in my mind CAI does in fact work or the stock would have been just a little faster but it wasn't,

 

you still able to wash those?

 

Work or not, the 2012 has additional fans or emissions equipment in the location where the cai usually goes. I'd hold off

 

Or use a vacuum cleaner. Me? Every three months I just take out the filter and tap it on the side of my tire to shake the dust out.

 

Get an aFe, essentially the same thing as the original TRD unit. You can find them online under three bills. Great build quality, sounds damn good too.

 

Maybe if he would have said in his original post he was getting a supercharger. People's answers would have been different. That is why when you post something with a certain answer you are looking for. INCLUDE ALL PERTINENT INFORMATION

 

i have a K&N CAI on my Tacoma it has a little more git up and go... if you have anything bigger than 31.8 tires you wouldnt know the difference. just louder in the cab.

 

Anything made for an 05-11 will probablynot fit due to this. MAKE SURE you verify it fits on a 12.
