What backspacing and offset is needed though? I believe my local tire shop put the wrong backspacing or offset on my pickup.

Ive got the XD Revolver and its rubbing so i think the offset or backspacing or both is not right.

Make sure you get a tire that works with 9" wide rims. Not all 265/70 are rated for 9" rims. Should fit with minimal to no rubbing, maybe remove front flaps as suggested above

Yeah im worried about having the top specs instead of the 2nd specs...im gonna get them to measure and tell me today. And if they got the wrong then im gonna get the to get the right wheel, 265 tire, or im taking my business elseware.

Also, i use my pickup for 99% street driving, with the exception of a gravel road every morning and every evening. So yeah, its pretty much an all street truck.

Even though it's a street truck and it'll probably 'be ok' running most 265/70s on a 9" rim, you're paying a lot for tires, they should be the proper size for the rim unless you're specifically paying for a particular look. Just my $0.02 but if I'm going to drop that kind of money on something, it should fit.

Agreed, OP said in another thread he found some 265/70R17 BFG Rugged Terrains that are approved for use on a 9" rim.

Damn, I hadn't heard that about the Rugged Terrains yet. Lots of reviews on the Rugged Trails and they seem to be more of an all season tire than an A/T. I checked my Coopers and they aren't recommended for a 9" rim in that size either, I wonder how many of the others actually are?

I have 265/70/17 duratracs wich i believe are suppossed to be on 8" wheel and i have them on 9" wheel no problems yet. Had them for around 8-10k miles on and off road

Is your pickup lifted or stock? or have you ever had the aftermarket wheels and duratracs with a stock pickup?

That is correct and never rubbed at all when stock even while wheeling and flexing. I don't have the mudflaps but I heard they can rub on the flaps with this tire size

On your mudflaps theres a little piece that sticks closer to the tire then the actual mudflap, and i heard if you trimmed it back it wouldnt rub? Is this true?
