Driver wheel pushed back?

Alright, so i wondered why my 245-70-17 tire was rubbing on my taco and i figure out why. My driver side front wheel is 1/4-1/2 of an inch closer to the mud flap then the passenger side? Could that be from where i hit that deer or what? Any help is appreciated.

 

Sounds like your caster is off.

 

How do i check that?

 

I did have it aligned about 2 weeks ago.

 

Alright, does the alignment spec sheet have your caster numbers on it?

 

Ill have to look after school today. What should the caster numbers be?

 

IIRC stock caster is 1.7, but I'm not positive.

They should have caught that on the alignment. How did you find out it was off? Are you going to keep the tires?

 

Was the alignment before or after you hit the deer?

 

I found out it was off because it was rubbing and the other front wheel was not. so then i started looking closely and realized it was further back. i got the alignment done 2 days after i hit the deer.

 

The alignment was done when you got the wheels installed? If so, I would bring it back and ask them about it.

 

Im going to look at the alignment sheet and see if they got something wrong and if not im getting it looked at this week by a mechanic about the deer and getting an estimate and im going to get him to check into why the wheel is off.

 

Check the mud flap. Did it get tweeked when you hit the deer?

 

I already checked the mud flap and its normal.

 

Hey Lucas I had to remove my front mudflaps when I got the new wheels on. The guy said that it was barely touching and the flap would wear out in that spot but I just could not stand the noise. It vibrated through the whole truck with new treads and all.

Did you try removing the flaps? Would that help for now until you get this taken care of?

What did the alignment specs say on caster?

 

Did you ever fix the problem? I'm having the same issue with my first gen.
