Ya my mom has an 05 V8 AWD sport and I love driving it. My brother has a 10 BCSB 4x4 sport and its real nice but ride wise does not compare to my moms. As for mpgs the V8 AWD gets 1 less than the V6 4x4 which IMO is not a big deal. My mom gets 15-16 in town and 19-20 highway.

Others have said it, but I think it is the best option as well.

Trade your taco for a similar taco only in 4x4. Get a lease return 08-09 4runner with v8 and AWD. Problem solved.

Originally not Expo AF! Kinda Expo AF now...lame.
    +1 for Runner. Awesome ride.

I love the Acadias. I really do not like the body styles of the Traverse (Chevy variant of Acadia), but think the Acadia's look sweet.

There's no shame in owning a GM if you like it and it does what you want. The Sequioa's are pretty nice but dang they are proud of those babies.

if your guessing your self with the price get yourself an older model, like 09' or 08' go with a 4th gen runner in my opinon they look better then the newer ones, plus you get all the fetures you want and about 20% cheaper. i go with. it.

The 4 runner is an awesome choice my wife is on her second, last one was an 07 v8 ltd. it was great we just picked up A 2011 limited and although it doesnt have the v8 it is still more than enough for her the updated v6 isn't too bad. It snows a lot in Colorado so I like her having the awd still has ability to lock the diff but she doesn't need to go in and out of 4x4 from dry road to snow which happens a lot here. And the interior in the 5h gen limited is great, glad they finally added an all black option. She actuall looked at the new sequoia platinum too and preferred they way the 4runner drives. Thank god the sequoia was like 68k!

Stick on hood scoop from Autozone.
Neither, trade both in for a 2012 (or slightly used 09-11) 4x4 Tacoma or a slightly used 4Runner for you and for camping, and get a sedan of some sort for everyday driving for your wife.

yeah the 4runner is definitly now going to be a pre-owned. Now to find the right one for the right price is the name of the game.

Thanks for all the great replies and advice once again!

Yeah!!! Go 4Runner!, trust me when I say that you have just made the wisest decision of your life.......

..or not. but still great decision. your going to enjoy it, i used to have one an 06' without the fancy toys inside and added safety. and it was awesome. always got me to were i need to go, plenty of room and storage. go crazy with mods. I only traded mine for truck cus i wanted to look good, its lighter, and wanted a bed. plus my girl sucked me into getting it lol. peer pressure sucks lol. she wanted it for the bed. besides that i always thought of the truck to be a real MAN's vehicle. good thing this is your wife's,.. ha-ha.:D

    4Runner for sure.

It'd be good to have variety. As for space I have 2 daughters and we've had Runners since they were babies (96 3rd gen and now 04 4th gen) and they've always had plenty of room for our needs.

Ours is the v8 AWD and in our snowy environment the AWD is a lifesaver. No thinking of switching on/off, just go. Mileage on the v8 is the same as the 3.4L of the '96, especially good considering it's AWD too.

If it weren't for needing a pickup once in a while I'd have 2 Runners instead, but we always seem to need a truck box so the Taco/Runner combo works well for us.
