Anyone tried using a plastic putty knife when doing this? I just took my dealer decal off, and it was some kinda foamy adhesive holding it on. Real pain in the ass also! I used this plastic putty knife and WD40 I had and tackled it no problem! No scratched paint and easy residue removal. Prob try it on the Taco decals tomorrow. ;)

Last time I striped a sticker off was my 1978 Trans Am bird. It was in the summer of 79. Black T/A 6.6 hot summer days a the woods. It took about, crap I forgot was stoned, it was more than than 7-8 days peeling that chicken off the hood. I look at the TRD Rugged Trail sticks and kind of like them and kind of don't. I like the red they match my Toytec coilovers & the TRD 2 floor mat's have red in them. Some Tacoma owners think the lift is OME. I thing I'm going to pull them in spring. Hair dryer & goo gone, oops & a buff.

I'll try out the goo gone on my decals. Any thoughts on what to color my decals? I have a magnetic grey paint job. I don't think black would look good. It just blend in. Red would be to much. Light grey wouldn't be any different than the chrome. Thoughts or perhaps just leave it be? Do some other cool mod?

my suggested use was intended for the removal of leftover sticky residue.. not for making explosions and mushroom clouds 30u4sgy_89b39924c5d2915ada35c2f801007489b83228a3.gif

I used Goo Gone. Took a while and if I'd had some lighter fluid, I'd have probably used it instead...it rocks. Plus, when your done, you can light stuff on fire :)

Goo Gone is okay, but still requires some elbow grease. Goof Off works better to remove sticky residue, but I would definately not use it on a painted surface.
I would recommend waxing the surface afterwards, regardless of what method was used.
