Where are Tacoma's made?

Cali, and that's exactly what my 09's driver side door says.

 

I think... I THINK they're all made in California or Mexico. I checked mine... Vermont??? Maybe that's why I never feel like taking it off road.

But why are such American things as dirtbikes and quality trucks designed solely in Japan? I was over there for a year and didn't really notice a motocross or freestyle culture nor an off-roading one.

My bad. I found the dealer tag all parts are from japan but was assembled in fremont

 

i heard that Toyota is making a plant for the Tacoma and Tundra in Mississippi

 

Have a source for your statement? I highly doubt that they will build another plant for the Taco. Isn't the Tundy made in Texas now?

 

well you know their building the KIA MOTORS plant somewhere in Alabama. My dad heard it from one of his work buddies that live in Mississippi.

 

Sorry no bluegrass Tacos, the Georgetown plant only makes the Camry/Hybrid, Solara, Avalon, and the Venza

 

The Tacoma trucks are made at NUMMI Factory in Fremont, California, but the truck beds are made in Baja California, Mexico they are shipped (pre-painted and ready to put on truck frame) to Fremont,Ca and installed at the factory there.

I have ordered a '09 X-Runner and did all kinds of research as to where they are made. And just about all the parts on the Tacoma are made in the USA.

 

Hmmmm.....We might have to change 2nd Generation to....

It takes 22 hours to build a Tacoma from start to finish (including time to let the paint cure) and thanks to the combination of skilled labor and giant robots a Tacoma rolls off the line every 82 seconds.

im pretty sure the fremont plant was shut down mid 2011... and they opened the new plant in san antonio where all tacomas will be made from now on...
