Just did this and it worked with 2013 T|X AC. Awesome, thanks! I find it strange that almost every vehicle I have owned or worked with has how to do this in the owners manual but the Tacoma manual says take it to the dealer to have it done.

Worked like a charm on my '13. Now if I could just get the seat belt beep to go away.

I had mine turned off for a few days and decided to turn it back on. When I lock my doors I click the remote twice and the double beep sounds like an alarm arming. In a parking lot it may deter a thief from trying to break into my truck if they think it has an alarm that might go off and draw attention to them. BEEP BEEP.

Worked on my 2012 TRD, but it did NOT work the first 3 times I tried it. Be sure to apply the same logic as when you have to unlock all doors from the remote (press twice, but 2 distinct presses separated by a second or two). nice and quiet now. Thanks...

Excellent. Worked for me on my 2013. I got no chirp/sound notifying me that that the changes were in effect. Figured it didn't work, but it actually did.

Does anyone know if this will work with the remote start fob?

I removed the little speaker located behind the gauge cluster . It got rid of door chime and seat belt chime .

Best free mod I've ever done

Cool, the easy process quoted several times above worked for me on my 2012 SR5. Thanks!

I couldn't get the answer-back trick to work on my '14, so I unplugged the beeper.

I've always hated that feature, and always disable it first thing on a new vehicle. At least they don't use the horn on Tacomas!

    Thanks for the tips!

ETA Nevermind! I plugged the beeper back in and tried again, and it worked. You have to press the right button on the key fob - use the Lock button.

I took the buzzer out of my '10 (see my previous photos) ... sold it 2 weeks ago and took 90 seconds to reinstall it.

Got the '14 home and within minutes I took it out ... no problems wih security system ...

Just did this on my 2013 to stop the alarm beeping that drove me crazy. It took me 2 times to get it right but it works!
    Thanks TW!

I like the beep when I lock it, but the unlock beeps are annoying. Is there a way to only disable the unlock beeps?

Did this this morning on my 2013. Life is so much better now.

The dealer wanted $100 to hook up their computer, hah!
