Just remembered I test drove a fj sit in one of those no lumbar adjustments and you'll love the seats in the Tacoma.

I love the front seats in my '09 TRD Sport. They have that adjustable lumbar adjustment which helps. I've done numerous 6-7 hour trips and never had a complaint. I guess by reading the other comments, the comfort is different for everyone. You'll just have to see how you like them.

I dont understand how a $34k truck only has 4 way adjustable seats, and not height adjusting. The other thing I do not understand is in the sales brochure and online, the TRD Sport comes with a POWER lumbar support. I have yet to see one unless they mean your hand power, and not electronic power.

I am very disappointed in the seats in this truck.

I test drove a TRD Sport yesterday. I'm kinda on the fence about the comfort of the seats. I currently drive an '05 Ford Escape XLT. The seat cushion on the TRD Sport seems a little shorter (front to back) than my Escape seat cushion. With my longer legs, it felt "weird", but I could probably get used to it. I agree with Gasitman on the minimally-adjustable seats. I, too, would think there would be more adjustments possible. My Escape seats have a high adjustment and a "base angle" adjustment for the cushion, to give a higher angle in the front of the seat. It'd be real nice to have that in a TRD Sport.

I loved the seats in my '03 Dakota. Hated the ones in my '06 F-150 and love the ones in my '09 TRD. Ford seats hurt my back and tailbone after less than 50-miles. The first week I had the TRD, we drove from San Diego to Sacramento without any discomfort at all. These are stock cloth covered seats but I'm thinking about adding seat heaters (my wife loves the ones in our cobra.)

I don't mind them, they could be better. My last car, 2010 Golf seats I loved. They were comfy and wrapped around when I sat in them, it was great. But driving a truck is much better than a two door hatchback.

Bench seat is def not the most comfortable thing in the world. If it could recline a bit it would be 1,000x better. I made a 12 hour straight drive and it wasn't too bad. The wife was with me and she said it wasn't too bad. Of course I've never owned a vehicle with comfortable seats and regularly drive around in military vehicles with little to no padding and extremely harsh suspension.

Models TRD Off Road, Sport have the same bucket sport seat. The basic SR5 model has a different bucket seat, thats a little wider and softer....right? I heard... the basic SR5 seat is more comfortable for longer trips.

It all comes down to personal preferences obviously. In mt 2 trds the seats felt molded to my body. Very snug. I've been on more than a few long road trips at least in my 2007. I never had any discomfort whatsoever. I do agree with the other person here who said that these seats should have more adjustments. My fj seats had a knob which adjusted the angle of the seat (versus the seatback).

They are not nearly as comfortable as the seats in my Z71 Tahoe, but way more comfortable than a XJ jeep Cherokee.

I cant really find a comfortable way to sit in mine. Its not horrible, but im 6 ft and to make my legs get enough room, i have to move the seat all but one notch back. then if i want to reach the steering wheel i have to move the top part of the seat almost strait up and down. its not horrible, but not comfortable either. if i just had an electric seat i could get to that sweet spot. anyone know if its possible to make it electric? or buy one that is?

One of the reasons I (stupidly) sold my 09 Taco DC for an F-150 was that I had been used to a seat raised up a bit. When I went to the 09 Tacoma DC back in 2009, I sort of felt as if I was driving a Miata....I felt so low to the floorboard.

That being said, the seats were very comfortable (they weren't the sport-type seats).

Now that I've driven an F-150 for the past two years and have returned (thankfully) to a Tacoma Sport, I'm again having to get used to not having an up/down seat adjustment (it was a bit strange; after two years of not sitting in a Tacoma, the first thing my butt said was, "haven't we met before??") :D I do like the sports-bucket seats though over the "standard" SR5 regular seats. Both are comfy.

No biggie...it was a learning experience (not the brightest, however) that a seat sitting "too low" (for my initial liking) wasn't worth trading for a full size truck I had instant buyer's remorse on when I saw my 09 DC sitting there....looking longingly for its master. :( LOL...

I'm 6 ft and I like the Taco's seat and driving position. In fact I have the seats set up pretty much the same way between my Taco and Subaru Impreza. All-around visibility is good. There's no reason why the seating position should be any different between a sedan and a pickup. The floor is higher for ground clearance, but it doesn't mean the driver should sit more upright. Part of the reason I've been very impressed by the Taco is that the steering, shifter, driving position, highway manners, etc. are car-like.
